Open Water
This course offers instruction in the basic skills necessary to be an open water diver. The subjects covered will include the physics of diving, medical aspects, the diving environment, dive time planning, and diving equipment. Pool topics will include snorkeling techniques, scuba skills, buoyancy control, diver rescues, and buddy breathing.
Classes met two nights per week for five weeks at Deep Six Divers Indoor Heated Pool located at Deep Six Divers.
The total price of the class is $225.00 plus tax. This includes 10 three hour classes, scuba gear use, 6 open water dives (2 at Lk.Isis and 4 in Key Largo), textbook, logbook, heated pool, and certification fee.
The student must provide his/her own mask, snorkel, and fins, as well as transportation to dive sites and accommodations.
Minimum age: 12 years
Class lectures are limited to 12 students and pool is a maximum of 6 students. Private and Semi-Private instruction is also available to meet any schedule.
